They definitely help support Lola's diagnosis and plan for recovery.

Breathe: I don't think Lola is nearly as well-muscled as the other horses in my remuda. She certainly has a large frame, but her actual muscle tone is soft.

Kate: Good call on your initial hunch. I agree that fitness will be my primary goal with her.Trailriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16097842353439742750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2390416239155466954.post-81121340565954011082010-07-19T04:49:24.730-07:002010-07-19T04:49:24.730-07:00Yeah, stifle locking - I recognized that, although...Yeah, stifle locking - I recognized that, although Maisie's hasn't ever been that bad - she will occasionally take a bad step and not be able to bring her leg forward, but it rarely lasts. The thing that's made the biggest difference for her is fitness, slowly achieved - lots and lots and lots of trot work, and until she's fit, going easy on turns and circles as those tend to bring on the problem in an unfit horse. Work uphill is also very helpful. Glad it's nothing worse!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2390416239155466954.post-57117136929064844342010-07-18T20:18:25.527-07:002010-07-18T20:18:25.527-07:00Really does sound like this is what she's got ...Really does sound like this is what she's got going on. I would never have thought she was out of condition just looking at her, and hopefully work will help her out.

Glad you got a ride in.
